This week in 1908, 1945

Every weekend JOBC travels back in time to the year the Cubs last won the pennant, and the year the Cubs last won the World Series.

This week in 1945, Hitler is seen in public for the last time, Sylvester the Cat debuts, and the Cubs get three of their star players in camp after they find out they are ineligible for the draft.

This week in 1908, Butch Cassidy celebrates his last birthday in Bolivia, Abner Doubleday is declared "inventor of baseball," and the Cubs are barnstorming on their way back to Chicago from spring training in Mississippi.
